Leadership Enhancement Program

The 12-month Student LEAPS Program consists of six virtual meetings facilitated by the Faculty Advisor or designee (members of ATAF University and College Athletic Training Student Committee) to discuss assigned readings. These virtual meetings will also include presentations from ATAF leaders relative to the role and responsibilities of their position as well as their personal career paths. After a one-on- one meeting with the Faculty Advisor, each student will be assigned a mentor. In concert with their mentors, each student is required to get involved with a committee and/or project focusing on an area that will enhance their knowledge and further their development as a future leader. Students will be asked to interview a minimum of three leaders in the athletic training profession and share their findings with the group. The Faculty Advisor will conduct virtual, individual meetings with each student several times during the year to assist in the development of an action plan focusing on career goals. During the month of July, affiliated with the ATAF annual meeting, students will meet to provide a brief presentation about their experience in the program.
