Treasurer


Eligibility
To become the Treasurer of ATAF, an individual must be a member of the NATA, have an NPI number, be a Licensed Athletic Trainer by the Florida Department of Health, be in good standing with the BOC, and live within the state of Florida. 

Selection
The Treasurer will be elected via ballot on the ATAF website by a popular majority vote of those active and retired members.

Assumption of Office
The newly elected Treasurer will begin their term the first of January following the election.

Term
The Treasurer may be elected to no more than two (2) consecutive three (3) year terms.

Functions and Responsibilities

  • Serve as an executive Officer and a member of the Executive Board.

  • Serves as the chairperson for the Finance Committee.

  • Possess full power and complete responsibility to transact all financial business for and on behalf of ATAF with the written approval of the President.

  • Commit ATAF to financial obligations not more than available financial resources.

  • Submit a financial report to the Executive Board prior to Executive Board meetings at least three times a year.

  • Submit a financial report to ATAF membership at all business meetings.

  • Account for all funds in both general and legislative accounts.

  • Obtain and keep record of yearly budgets of all standing committees.

  • Approve the appointment of committee chairs.

  • Approve the appointment of special committees deemed necessary for the completion of special 
    association projects.

  • Continually evaluate and define the roles and functions of all officers, standing committees and special committees. 

  • Receive recommendations, suggestions, and requests from membership and makes recommendations to the President for their inclusion in the agenda of the Executive Board meetings.

  • Continually evaluate the goals and objectives of the association and accept primary responsibility for progress towards these goals.

  • Has voting power.

Regional Representatives

Eligibility
To become a Regional Representative of ATAF, an individual must be a member of the NATA, have an NPI number, be a Licensed Athletic Trainer by the Florida Department of Health, be in good standing with the BOC, and live within the state of Florida. Additionally, the NATA membership address for Regional Representatives must align with the region of the state for which they represent.

Selection
The Regional Representative(s) shall be elected via ballot on the ATAF website by a popular majority vote of those active and retired members.

Assumption of Office
The newly elected Regional Representative(s) will begin their term the first of January following the election.

Term
The Regional Representative(s) may be elected to no more than two (2) consecutive two (2) year terms.

Functions and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the Executive Board.

  • Assist in decision making for all initiatives, financial activities, processes, and procedural activities for ATAF.

  • Represent the regional membership at Executive Board meetings.

  • Serve to distribute information from the Executive Board to regional membership.

  • Approve the appointment of committee chairs.

  • Approve the appointment of special committees deemed necessary for the completion of special association projects.

  • Continually evaluate and define the roles and functions of all officers, standing committees and special committees.

  • Receive recommendations, suggestions, and requests from membership and makes recommendations to the President for their inclusion in the agenda of the Executive Board meetings.

  • Continually evaluate the goals and objectives of the association and accept primary responsibility for progress towards these goals.

  • Has voting power.

ATAF Mission

The Athletic Trainers’ Association of Florida serves the professional interests of athletic trainers (ATs) in Florida and advocates for clinical practice advancement and recognition of ATs as integral healthcare providers.

The Athletic Trainers’ Association of Florida (ATAF) will serve as an advocate for its members and promote a multi-disciplinary health care model of patient-centered care to advance the profession. ATAF aims to represent every athletic trainer working in Florida and strives to ensure every physically active individual within Florida has access to an athletic trainer.
